Build the right thing for your users in the right order

Building the wrong thing is bad for users and bad for business. Building the nice-to-have before your killer feature is a gift to your competitors.

Work at the right size, think at the right level

Don't lose the forest for the trees! Teams need to think at a larger scope than ever before. Other products tend to focus on the bottom-level increment of work so heavily that teams lose essential context when working. The unfortunate result is that teams tend to author oversized stories, and compensate with long task lists, because decomposing is hard and decomposed features are opaque. In Mevali, estimate and commit at the Story and Bug level while the application promotes thinking at the Feature level.

Feature composition often needs to evolve and Mevali is built for that - single click and drag/drop:

Mevali structures stories as Who, What, Why, Worth (Coins), Acceptance Criteria, and optional demo scripts. Structure helps story authors fall into the pit of success of writing actionable content (and avoiding blank canvas syndrome). It is also what makes the drag/drop operations possible, and (coming soon) what gets sent to AI agents. But don't let the structure fool you - Mevali stories can be created, edited, and reshaped in seconds.

Other products attempt to compensate for an under-designed story structure from 2005 by providing AI workflows to decompose larger blobs of text into smaller blobs of text. Meaningful content is buried alive in their backlogs, requiring users to open three to five tabs to understand context, and manipulation after creation remains tedious. While everyone else has a big blob of unstructured text for the most important information, they also tend to require engineers to fill out a laundry list of required fields so stories tend to be tedious to maintain while still managing to be underspecified! Mevali does the opposite of that: Who, What, and Worth are essential, Why is encouraged, and everything else can be skipped or added later.

See flow before it becomes a problem

Kanban is about flow, but you wouldn't guess that from other products. Mevali shows you where work is stuck, and when it stopped being normal.

  • Age in column is shown directly on the card, with alerts when an item exceeds the 70th and 95th percentiles for comparable work.

Make the events useful

Native Scrum events are woven into Mevali so that they are fast, pleasant, and actionable. Teams get real value and remote team members stop surfing social media during meetings. Your team decides which events to run and how to run them, and can skip any of them.

Some people are abandoning meetings entirely because of waste, but this over-correction loses the value creation and risk protection gained from successful team communication. The solution is not to abandon meetings but to make them shorter, more pleasant, and ACTIONABLE - and Mevali has you covered.

Everyone can work in the room

During an event, Mevali shows the item the facilitator is looking at and makes active edits visible across the team. When someone starts editing an area, feature, story, bug, or acceptance criterion, everyone can see it.

Backlog changes appear for the whole team as they happen, without a save button or a pause in the conversation so the meeting does not devolve into one person screen-sharing while everyone else watches. One teammate can add some acceptance criterion, another can tighten the wording, and a third can move the item in the work breakdown structure, and the whole team sees it.

Grooming

Mevali's decomposition, recomposition, and drag-drop dependency tools eliminate precious minutes of waste from each grooming meeting. Planning poker is built in so there is no need to synchronize with external software.

Standup summarizes work by both team member (yesterday, today, and impediments) as well as by work item (what is stuck in the pipeline, what is at risk). The team spends the time collaborating and solving real problems.
